Southcenter Marketing Partnership Meetings
The City of Tukwila and Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce are hosting Southcenter Marketing Partnership meetings to
provide an opportunity for managers of Southcenter area retailers, restaurants, hotels, and attractions venues to form a business-led cooperative marketing organization.
The first meeting was held on May 5, 2011 and over twenty businesses participated. The group decided to continue meeting and identified
some possible areas of collaboration. One of the group’s initial goals was to hold an educational workshop on electronic marketing.
The second meeting was held on August 4, 2011 and was a workshop on electronic marketing. Approximately a dozen people attended.
The third meeting was held on Thursday, September 15, 2011. Approximately twenty businesses participated and brainstormed ideas to use
the re-opening of Klickitat Drive and Southcenter Parkway to generate business when the roads reopen in early October. Out of this
the City, Chamber, and some key businesses created
the “Shopping is easier at Southcenter” campaign that is starting with a promotion for October. For more information visit

If you would like to participate in the “Shopping is easier at Southcenter” promotion, please contact the Chamber at 206-575-1633.
We are still deciding when to have the next Partnership meeting. Be sure to sign up so you’ll receive an invitation when it’s scheduled.

Southcenter District Businesses – changes to temporary sign regulations
Due to special circumstances related to the Southcenter Access Project caused by the full road closures of portions of Southcenter Parkway and Klickitat Drive and the resulting traffic impacts, the City of Tukwila is looking for creative measures to keep customers coming to your businesses and properties. Therefore, during the road closures the City will provide flexibility on temporary sign regulations. Our intent is for customers to know your businesses are open and how to get there. Follow this link for more information.
If you have questions, please contact Derek Speck, Economic Development Office, at derek.speck@tukwilawa.gov .
For information on the reconstruction of Southcenter Parkway and Klikitat Drive, visit the Southcenter Access Project page.
