Healthy Earth, Healthy You 5K Run & Walk

This FUN run and walk is healthy for YOU and healthy for the Earth. Registration for this event is $20 and includes the opportunity to plant a tree or shrub in your honor at a post event riverside restoration event. Good, Healthy, FUN awaits you along the Duwamish-Green River trail. The race begins at 8:00am. For registration information please call 206-768-2822.

13th Annual Backyard Wildlife Festival

Can you imagine a world without wildlife? Well, neither can we! Join us as we celebrate wildlife and nature at the 13th Annual Backyard Wildlife Festival! This event features presentation from local experts Ciscoe Morris and Marianne Binetti, along with a variety of exhibitors, vendors, and nature enthusiasts.

Don’t leave the kids at home…there is plenty to keep the entire family entertained at this event – so make sure you check out the Kids Garden Party tent! One popular highlight of the festival is a guided bird tour which meanders along the Duwamish River – where bird sightings are numerous.

Get an inside look at fabulous gardens in the Tukwila area.

Admission includes tours of private gardens, snacks and refreshments, and musical entertainment.

Admission: $10 in advance, $15 day of event


Movies on the Green

Enjoy appetizers, dinner or drinks at Billy Baroo’s inside the Foster Golf Links Clubhouse before the movies! Outdoor seating opens at 8 p.m. and movies begin at dusk.

This evening series is taught at the Tukwila Community Center by staff from Whistling Train farms. There is a fee to attend and advanced sign-up is required. Tukwila residents receive a discount. See our Recreation Brochure for detailed information.


Peanut Butter & Jam Concert Series

Wednesdays, August 7 - August 28 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Tukwila Community Center

Join Tukwila Parks and Recreation Department for a FREE fun-filled, toe-tapping good time at our noontime concert series, just for kids!

This series is held outside the Tukwila Community Center next to the spray park. So, pack the picnic baskets and blankets and watch your kid’s dance and sing to the tunes of their favorite performers!

Family Summer Outdoor Cinema Series

Fridays, August 2 - August 23
Tukwila Community Center

Bring your own lawn chair, or cozy up under your blanket at TCC for an enjoyable evening in the park under the stars…doors open at 8:00pm and movie begins at dusk. Shows are FREE, but we do ask you bring two cans of food per family member to help support the Tukwila Food Pantry. Popcorn, candy and other concession items will be available for purchase.
