Uphill eastbound lane of the South 129th St bridge is closed for repairs

On Saturday, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) bridge inspection team found a deteriorated timber pile cap on the South 129th St bridge that needs to be replaced immediately.     WSDOT has closed the uphill eastbound lane of the section of the timber trestle bridge on the west end. The steel girder section that spans Interstate 5 and the railroad tracks is unrestricted and is in good shape.   WSDOT has set up an automated portable traffic signal and traffic control to allow traffic past the repair area.     Legal loads are still being allowed on the bridge.

WSDOT will begin the removal and replacement this week and they expect the repairs to be complete in about 2 weeks.
