2020 Community Events

Get to know your neighbors and make new friends while building community in Tukwila!

Saturday, May 9:  Backyard Wildlife Festival, 10am – 3 pm:   2020 marks the 20th year anniversary of the Backyard Wildlife Festival.  Discover local resources & how to support native habitat & gardens that attract bees, butterflies, & other wildlife.   Garden art, plant sales, crafts, local food, family fun, and  live music.  Casper Baby Pants will kick off the event at 10:30am and The Falconer will be onsite with his live birds of prey all day.  For more information visit: www.BackyardWildlifeFestival.org    Location: Tukwila Community Center, 12424 42nd Ave. S.

Thursday, July 9: Crestview Park: Bark in the Park, 5:30 – 7:30 pm:  A hound-errific event for dogs, their owners, and friends. Canine resources, music, and food. First 40 people to walk to the park receive a special gift.  Location: 16200 42nd Ave. S.

Thursday, July 16: Foster Park Picnic, 5:30 – 7:3o pm:  You bring your family (and neighbors) and we’ll provide the picnic, live music, and good ole’ fashion fun! Roasted corn for the first 250 attendees. Location: 13919 53rd Ave. S.

Thursday, July 23: Riverton Park Garden Party, 5:30 – 7:30 pm:  Flip flops and large brimmed garden hats encouraged! Music, food, compost demonstrations, community art projects, and summertime fun are not to be missed!  Location: 4101 131St St.

Saturday, July 25: Touch a Truck Safety & Emergency Prep. Fair, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Kids and caregivers get to climb on big rigs, check out tractors, and pretend to drive a fire truck or bus while gathering resources and information to help prepare for emergency situations and events.  Location: Westfield Mall, Tukwila

Thursday, July 30: Bicentennial Park Summer Stroll, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm:  Eat, stroll, & laugh as you walk between Bicentennial Park and the new pedestrian bridge. Food, entertainment, and loads of lunchtime laughter for the first 200 people.  Location: 6000 Christiansen Rd.

Thursday, August 6: Cascade View CommUNITY Park Celebration,  5:30 – 7:30 pm:  Celebrate Tukwila’s uniqueness with food, music, dance, and art at one of Tukwila’s most adored parks.  Location:  14211 37th Ave. S.

Thursday, August 13: Tukwila’s Summer Splash,  5:30 – 7:30pm:  Join us for a splashing-good time, live music, and sweet summer treats at the Tukwila Community Center.  Location: 12424 42nd Ave.
