Donating blood through Bloodworks Northwest is an immediate and essential way to help cancer patients receive care at hospitals and cancer centers across the Pacific Northwest. About 25% of the blood supply is used by patients battling cancer. That’s because chemotherapy can damage red blood cells and platelet production\, making blood transfusions a vital part of cancer treatment that only comes from volunteer blood donors. In one hour\, you can make a difference in the lives of people affected by cancer. \nOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month\, a time to highlight the importance of research on the disease\, mourn the ones we’ve lost\, and do our part to help people who are fighting now.
