SUMMARY:FREE Amphibians in the City Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Hello\, Tukwila’s Stewards\, Community Partners\, Environmental Organizations\, and City Staff\, \nGreen Tukwila\, in partnership with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife\, has created Wildlife Wednesdays. This six-part series highlights different local wildlife each month with a FREE lecture\, in person\, and on Zoom.  December\, we are highlighting “Amphibians in the City” with Guest Speaker Max Lambert\, PhD. \nPlease help us make these events successful by joining yourself\, sharing with your network\, posting on social media pages\, and using word of mouth.  Education is the number one tool for supporting our urban forests\, green spaces and making a difference in our homes to support wildlife. \n  \nAmphibians in the City \nDecember 7th\, Wednesday      5:45 pm – 7:00 pm \nHybrid Event:    Tukwila Community Center or Zoom \nRegistration is required:   www.Tukwilawa.gov/greentukwila  \n\nLearn about urban amphibian (frog and salamander) diversity living around us in Western Washington\, including the unique species that live alongside us in our cities and suburbs. We’ll discuss the threats these critters face and how we are helping them out. \n  \nMax Lambert\, PhD: \nAquatic Research Section Manager at Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife \n“I have over a decade of experience as a research biologist studying how human activities influence wildlife and how animals subsequently evolve to deal with novel environmental conditions\, both in natural environments and in our cities and suburbs. \n  \nMy research is highly integrative and merges careful field observations\, laboratory experiments\, genomics techniques\, endocrinology\, environmental chemistry\, studies of museum specimens\, and geospatial GIS analyses to understand the fundamental dynamics of the natural world and how we conserve it better.”
