DESCRIPTION:Hosted during Free First Thursdays \n\n\n\nNeed help or inspiration with your design for the Spacesuit Design Contest? \nJoin us for our NEW Free First Thursday drop-in workshops! \nMuseum staff will lead workshops to help contestants learn about different important parts of a spacesuit\, ask questions\, think through ideas and start to figure how to build their own spacesuits. \n\nWorkshops Details\n\nThursday\, March 5 and Thursday\, April 2  |  5:00 PM to 8:00 PM\n\nSpacesuits can be high-tech machines. Design a (non-functional) panel to help control it.\n\n\nThursday\, May 7 and Thursday\, June 4  |  5:00 PM to 8:00 PM\n\nBring your in-progress designs for help and ideas from Museum staff.\n\n\n\n\nAbout Spacesuit Design Contest\nFor this contest\, entrants must design and draw an original Spacesuit that follows the theme and all Contest requirements and rules. The top entrants in each category will then build their design as a wearable\, but not functional\, spacesuit. \nThe Top 5 Spacesuit designs in each category will be showcased in a Fashion Show on Saturday\, June 27\, 2026. DESCRIPTION:Registration is open for the King County Youth Leadership Summit and we want you to be part of this historic day! \nDesigned by and for young people\, this summit is a unique opportunity for leaders and aspiring changemakers ages 14-24 to gather from every corner of King County. Whether you’re already active in your community or looking for a way to make a difference\, this event is built to amplify your voice. \nKing County Youth Leadership Summit \nSaturday\, May 30\, 2026\, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm \nThe Museum of Flight – 9404 E Marginal Way S \nEach young person must register themselves. If you are under 18\, you will need adult permission for photo releases and participation. \nRegister today and learn more on the Summit landing page! \n\nWhat to expect\nWe will have a full day of networking\, peer-to-peer learning\, and action. We’re looking for session proposals that connect directly to the Youth Bill of Rights priorities/articles. View the King County Youth Bill of Rights or read the project report. The submission deadline to is April 27. \nSubmit a breakout session proposal! \n\nHow can community-based organizations support?\nWe have a total capacity of 250 attendees (200 young leaders and 50 adult volunteers).
