The team will do their best to get through our line as quickly as we can while delivering high quality patient care to every family. Please remember that they are a small team and we may not have the capacity to see every pet that comes to a clinic. Examples are: \nBank statement \nSSI/SSID documents \nSubsidized housing documents or letters from housing \nMost recent paycheck stubs \nEBT \nOther reasonably accessible proof of income \n\n________________________________________________________________________________ \n\n\n\nRegional Animal Services of King County – Late fees waived through June 30\nA pet license provides peace of mind should your pet ever get lost. Last year\, RASKC reunited 831 lost pets with their owner thanks to a license. Your license fee also helps fund the vital\, life-saving work we do at RASKC. Now through June 30\, 2024\, you can renew an expired pet license and have the late fee waived. \n** Visit Tukwila City Hall at 6200 Southcenter Blvd\, Tukwila to get or renew your license.  City Hall is open Mondays-Thursdays from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. \nLicense online here or call 206-296-2712.

DESCRIPTION:At these FREE community repair events\, skilled volunteer “fixers” try to repair and mend small household and personal items. \n** Saturday\, May 11\, 1:30-4:30 pm\, Tukwila Community Center | Facebook event page ** \n\nSunday\, April 21\, 1:30-4:30 pm\, Burien Library | Facebook event page \nSaturday\, June 8\, 1:30-4:30 pm\, Kirkland Library | Facebook event page \nSaturday\, Aug. 10\, 1:30-4:30 pm\, Skyway Library | Facebook event page \n  \nHow can I participate in a King County-sponsored repair event?\nTo bring in an item to be looked at\, at King County’s free community repair events: There are no reservations or appointments\, but an advance sign-up gives priority over “walk-ins” or second items. One signed-up item per event per person. \nTo request an advance sign-up for a specific King County-sponsored event (not other program’s events)\, or if you have questions\, contact event coordinator Tom at tom.watson@kingcounty.gov .  In your message\, specify the event you wish to attend\, and the kind of item you have. \nAlso contact Tom if you’re interested in being a volunteer “fixer” for this program. However\, there are currently very limited openings for new fixers (no openings for most events)\, and no openings for volunteers of other types. \n  \nWhat can I bring to a King County-sponsored repair event?\nItems our fixers can potentially work on at these repair events include household and personal items that are small enough to be carried in by one person\, including certain electronics\, small furniture\, and clothing/textiles. Items brought in for repair\, including clothing\, must be clean. \nWe may decline to work on any item – in advance or at the event – depending on the item\, the type of repair needed\, the fixers available\, or for other reasons. \nItems we can’t work on include: Anything that uses gasoline; cell phones; microwaves. Also\, no lengthy reconstructive repairs; no major clothing alterations; no knife or tool sharpening. \nFor many types of items\, area businesses offer repair services for a fee. These businesses are listed in the King County repair businesses directory\, which has 18 different categories. Support those businesses\, if you can!

SUMMARY:Restore Tukwila Park with EarthCorps
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Tukwila Park to remove non-native plants like English Ivy and Himalayan Blackberry. \nTukwila Park is a 6.5 acre park site and was built in 1934 – the oldest of the Tukwila parks. The site is covered with mature vegetation\, which includes large firs and a variety of Rhododendrons. \nThe Basics\nRegistration is required. EarthCorps supplies gloves\, tools\, water and snack bars. We will teach you everything you need to know! No experience necessary\, just come ready to learn something new! Be sure to sign in at registration when you arrive. \nThis video may give you a better idea of what to expect. \nFor your safety and comfort please bring:\n\nClothing that can get dirty (because it will!)\nClothing that will protect your legs against prickly plants (no shorts\, please)\nSturdy shoes that can handle some mud (closed toed shoes are required such as work boots\, hiking boots\, rubber boots\, etc. NO sandals\, flats\, or heels)\nRain gear and warm layers -OR- sun protection (check the weather!)\nSack lunch and snacks (to refuel)\nFull water bottle (we will have a jug on-site for re-fills)\nTravel mug for tea/coffee\nIf you have a favorite pair of gloves\, feel free to bring them (otherwise we’re happy to provide a pair)\n\nThe event will happen rain or shine! \n**  CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP ** \n  \nWhat will volunteers be doing at the event?\nWhile the exact tasks can vary\, our projects focus on improving the forests and parks in our local cities. Healthy and thriving forests are vital to our community because they absorb and filter rain water\, produce clean oxygen\, provide living spaces for wildlife\, and create a place for people to connect with the outdoors. \nIn order to help create healthy forests and green spaces\, the work can include\, but is not limited to: \n\nRemoving weeds (like Ivy or Blackberry)\nMaintaining areas where these weeds have been removed (weeding or spreading mulch)\nPlanting trees and shrubs during the rainy season (often ~Oct.-Feb.)\n\nGroups\nIf you are coming as a group\, the group leaders are expected to have an active role in our events. After registering your group\, please get in touch with volunteer@earthcorps.org to make sure everything is in order. On the day of the event\, make yourself known to the staff (in bright yellow vests) and arrive early in order to help guide your group members. \nYouth Policy\nYouth under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent\, guardian\, or responsible adult. All volunteers between the ages of 14 and 17 that are not with a parent or guardian must print and bring a filled out Youth Waiver the day of the event. \nYouth and school groups are welcome to attend; leaders should contact the Volunteer Team to take care of all necessary preparations. \nDirections\nTukwila Park is located at: \n15460 65th Ave S \nTukwila\, WA 98188 \nThere is a small parking lot as well as nearby street parking.
