DESCRIPTION:STUFF THE BUS to make sure no child goes hungry!   Thanks to your generous donations in November\,  the SNACKPACK PROGRAM’S  first Stuff the Bus campaign was a success (more than 1\,600 pounds of food donated).   Now we are doing it again . \nPlease come to Saars this SATURDAY\, JANUARY 4\, from 10:00 am-2:00 pm to help fill a bus with nutritious food for the Tukwila Weekend SnackPack Program. \nThe Tukwila Weekend SnackPack Program provides food for Tukwila School District’s elementary children who do not have stable housing.   Each weekend and school break (when students do not have access to free school meals)\, the program provides backpacks full of nutritious food to more than 110 students. \nThank you\, and see you at Saars!

Healthy and thriving forests are vital to our community because they absorb and naturally filter rain water\, produce clean oxygen\, provide living spaces for wildlife\, and create a place for people to connect with the outdoors. \nIn order to help create healthy forests\, the work can include: \n\nRemoving aggressive weeds (like English Ivy or Himalayan Blackberry)\nMaintaining areas where these weeds have been removed\nPlanting trees and shrubs during the rainy season (often Oct.-Feb.)\n\nGroups\nIf you are coming as a group\, the group leaders are expected to have an active and integral role in our events. On the day of the event\, make yourself known to the staff (in bright yellow vests) and arrive early in order to meet your group members. \nAre you or anyone in your group under 18?\nYouth under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent\, guardian\, or responsible adult. All volunteers between the ages of 14 and 17 that are not with a parent or guardian must bring a filled out Youth Waiver the day of the event.  \nYouth and school groups are welcome to attend; leaders should contact the  Volunteer Team  to take care of all necessary preparations.
