DESCRIPTION:Join your neighbors in restoring a local stream and wetland Riverton Creek that needs your help with weed removal and stream restoration to enhance salmon habitat. Did you know that every small stream in Tukwila is important for the health of salmon and orcas? Come find out how every weed you pull matters and get involved in this local project! \nWhat to bring:  Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots\, hiking/tennis shoes)\, long sleeves\, long pants\, warm layers and bring a rain jacket. We’ll have tools and gloves for you to use! Help reduce waste by bringing your own refillable water bottle if you have one.All ages are welcome\, but we encourage all volunteers under the age of 15 to be accompanied by an adult. DESCRIPTION:  \nAction Tukwila holds monthly meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month.  All who are interested in the goal of building community in Tukwila are welcome! \n  \nAction Tukwila took shape in 2016.  Its seed was an informal group of citizens who wanted to explore ideas for projects that would build a vibrant community and help people who live in Tukwila thrive. \nThe group’s first project was a record-breaking community gathering: Come Sit at Our Table – The World’s Largest Potluck. For one glorious August afternoon\, the northbound lanes of Tukwila International Boulevard closed to traffic.  More than 1\,500 people came together to enjoy food\, dance\, music\, and soccer with their neighbors. \nNow a 501(c)(3)\,  Action Tukwila continues to evolve and launch new projects.
