This former dairy farm is now part park and part tidal wetland that provides shelter and food for wildlife like ospreys\, great blue herons\, bald eagles and juvenile salmon. EarthCorps supplies gloves\, tools\, water and snack bars. We will teach you everything you need to know! No experience necessary\, just come ready to learn something new! Healthy and thriving forests are vital to our community because they absorb and filter rain water\, produce clean oxygen\, provide living spaces for wildlife\, and create a place for people to connect with the outdoors. \nIn order to help create healthy forests and green spaces\, the work can include\, but is not limited to: \n\nRemoving weeds (like ivy or blackberry)\nMaintaining areas where these weeds have been removed (weeding or spreading mulch)\nPlanting trees and shrubs during the rainy season (often ~Oct.-Feb.)\n\nPlease be aware that our work involves a range of physical activities including walking\, bending\, grabbing\, and potentially: \n\nNavigating varied terrain: including uneven surfaces\, slopes\, and possibly muddy or sandy areas.\nSustaining positions: like kneeling\, crouching\, or standing for extended periods.\nContributing to tasks requiring visual and auditory awareness: such as identifying plant species (we will show you!) and following safety instructions.\n\nWe are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to ensure everyone can participate.
