DESCRIPTION:Riverton Park is a beautiful community park with picnic tables\, a playground\, Gully Gardens P-Patch\, and a walking loop with a natural border that offers something for everyone. The natural plant board of the park has largely established mature trees that support wildlife\, reduce pollutants in the air\, and help to bring shade on hot days. Unfortunately\, these trees are in danger due to English ivy\, which grows aggressively and chokes out native plants and trees. The good news is YOU ARE HERE to help; as a community\, we can save these trees and install a healthy native forest; plus\, it is a ton of fun! \nAll tools\, materials\, and training will be provided at the start of the work party. \nRestrooms are onsite May-October. Otherwise\, you may use the restroom at the Tukwila Community Center quick drive down the street \nOpen to the public \nAll ages OK \n1 out of 6 participants registered. \nWhat to Bring\nBring a full water bottle\, snacks for yourself\, weather-appropriate clothes\, and closed-toed shoes. DESCRIPTION:Youth voices needed: become a member of the SaFE Equity Work Group\nKing County Metro is looking for young people from ages 15-19 to help shape the future of transit safety in King County. Metro’s Safety\, Security\, and Fare Enforcement (SaFE) Initiative wants to ensure the voices of youth are part of our SaFE Equity Workgroup\, the panel that works with Metro to plan\, prioritize\, and evaluate projects to improve transit safety.  The Equity Workgroup wants to add 3-4 young people to the group. \nMembers of the SaFE Equity Workgroup are paid for their participation\, a stipend of $75 for each hour attending meetings and other events. The SaFE Equity Workgroup meets virtually on the third Monday of each month\, from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Youth workgroup members will be invited to attend regular workgroup meetings and additional youth cohort meetings 1-2 times per month.
