SUMMARY:Tukwila Village Farmers Market
DESCRIPTION:Global to Local’s Food Innovation Network and IRC’s New Roots program joined forces to bring fresh\, cultural produce to a low-food access neighborhood where the produce is grown by and for immigrant communities. The Tukwila Village Farmers Market’s origin dates back to 2018 when it was operating as a single farm stand – the Namaste Farm Stand\, named after IRC’s Namaste Community Garden based in Tukwila. As New Roots gained access to farmland in Kent in 2021\, existing and new growers gained opportunity to increase their production\, in turn growing the number of beginning farmers participating at the market. In 2025\, IRC New Roots took on sole management of the market after Global 2 Local closed its doors. The Tukwila Village Farmers Market prioritizes food access for SNAP users and encourages its vendors to offer SNAP-eligible products. \nDownload Flyer \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n2025 Vendors\nFarm & Food Vendors\nNamuna Garden\, DuMonde\, KEZAMA\, Apple Guy\, New Roots Farm Stand\, Taste of Congo\, Diane’s Dreamy Delights\, T’s Messy Potatoes\, \nArtisans & Services \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAK Art and Calligraphy\, Horizoning Cleaning Services LLC\, Dress African\, C’s & Bees\, Toussaint Naturals \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInterested in joining the market family? Tukwila has been a Tree City USA for 20+ years – thank you for helping grow our urban tree canopy! \nHow to get free trees: \n\nSelect the right tree for the right place.\n\nBrowse the tree information in the order form  to find a tree that suits your site. Verify there is adequate space for the tree to mature.\nAvoid underground and overhead utilities by ensuring you know where they are: gas\, internet\, water\, electricity\, sewer\, etc. We recommend you call 811\, the free service to help you locate utilities.\nTrees must be planted on private property in Tukwila city limits.\n\n\nComplete the online application by September 15th.\n\nWe will confirm your tree(s) and send information on how to plant them in September. \nSpecies are available on a first come\, first serve basis. Order sooner to ensure availability.\n\n\nPickup your tree(s) at Hazelnut Park on Saturday 10/4/25 between 10a-1p \n\nThere will be staff on site to walk through how to plant and care for your tree. \nYou will be responsible for bringing your tree home. Trees will be about 3′ – 7′ tall. \nIf you are not available on pickup day\, contact staff to determine if a prearranged alternative time is available for you to pickup.\n\n\nPlant your tree!\n\nFollow instructions in the How to Plant Guide and in our video below. Be sure to water your trees after they are in the ground! We will follow up after trees are distributed requesting photos and to provide tree care guidance. \nQuestions? \nIf you have any questions regarding the Tukwila Tree giveaway please call\, text\, or email City Arborist/Urban Environmentalist\, Heidi Watters at 206-839-6483 or Heidi.Watters@TukwilaWA.gov \n  \n \nAvailable Tree Species:
