SUMMARY:Future of Fire/EMS Community Advisory Committee
DESCRIPTION:Community Advisory Committee \nOver the last 15 years\, the Puget Sound Region has seen increasing regionalization of fire and EMS service\, with numerous service providers securing voter approval to merge their operations into larger combined agencies or contracting for fire/EMS services from other agencies. The primary motivations have been a desire to capture potential economies of scale\, an ability to offer additional services through cost-sharing and responding to budget pressures.   The City has been exploring options for regionalization of fire service in the past several years.    The Committee is asked to provide findings and recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on the following items: \n\nSustainability of the Fire Department service levels within existing City revenues.\nAny additional Fire Department programs and staffing services that should be priorities to fund in the near-term (0-6 years).\nCriteria for evaluating the City’s options for future fire/EMS service delivery.\nRecommendation as to the preferred option or options for ensuring future provision of high-quality fire/EMS service in the City at a sustainable cost.\nPublic engagement strategies for the City to consider as part of deliberations following delivery of the Advisory Committee’s report\n\nThe Advisory Committee is requested to present a final report outlining its findings and recommendations to the Mayor and Council by the end of April 2022 \nMore information about this work can be found in the Committee Charter.  \nCommittee Agenda Packets & Meeting Minutes

SUMMARY:Future of Fire/EMS Community Advisory Committee
DESCRIPTION:Community Advisory Committee \nOver the last 15 years\, the Puget Sound Region has seen increasing regionalization of fire and EMS service\, with numerous service providers securing voter approval to merge their operations into larger combined agencies or contracting for fire/EMS services from other agencies. The primary motivations have been a desire to capture potential economies of scale\, an ability to offer additional services through cost-sharing and responding to budget pressures.   The City has been exploring options for regionalization of fire service in the past several years.    The Committee is asked to provide findings and recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on the following items: \n\nSustainability of the Fire Department service levels within existing City revenues.\nAny additional Fire Department programs and staffing services that should be priorities to fund in the near-term (0-6 years).\nCriteria for evaluating the City’s options for future fire/EMS service delivery.\nRecommendation as to the preferred option or options for ensuring future provision of high-quality fire/EMS service in the City at a sustainable cost.\nPublic engagement strategies for the City to consider as part of deliberations following delivery of the Advisory Committee’s report\n\nThe Advisory Committee is requested to present a final report outlining its findings and recommendations to the Mayor and Council by the end of April 2022 \nMore information about this work can be found in the Committee Charter.  \nCommittee Agenda Packets & Meeting Minutes

DESCRIPTION:The City of SeaTac will be hosting a recycling event for all King County residents at Tyee High School\, 4424 South 188th St\, SeaTac\, WA 98188\, on Saturday\, May 7th\, from 9 am to 3pm. \nMaterials to be collected for free are: secure document shredding\, scrap metal\, porcelain\, motor oil\, tires\, anti-freeze\, household goods\, Styrofoam\, plastic bags\, batteries\, CFL light Bulbs\, electronics\, plastic film and paint\, including latex\, oil based and stains/varnish. \n  \nWHAT:   Spring 2022 recycling event\nWHERE:   Tyee High School\, 4424 South 188th St\, SeaTac\, WA 98188\nWHEN:   Saturday\, May 7th\, from 9 am to 3pm\n\nOrganizers are also requesting the following precautions be met: \n\n\n\nWe strongly discourage you from attending if you are at increased risk of complications due to COVID-19 – This includes people 60 years or older\, and those with underlying medical conditions.\nDon’t attend if you are sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19\, or if someone in your household is.\nStay in your vehicle and follow directions by staff.\nIf you must get out of your vehicle\, keep at least six feet of space between yourself and others.\nDo not touch your face.\nWash your hands for at least 20 seconds frequently when possible or use alcohol-based sanitizer as an alternative if handwashing is not available.\nWe encourage you to wear a facemask\nPlease be patient as delays can be expected due to event staff maintaining social distancing and customers holding on to items during the “Stay Home\, Stay Healthy” order.\n\n\nPlease use the map below to help load your vehicle in the best order:\n\nSee event information here:   https://www.seatacwa.gov/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/11399/16?curm=5&cury=2022
