SUMMARY:Tree and Environmental Advisory Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Tukwila Tree and Environment Committee first met in 2012-2013 to assist with drafting goals and policies related to the natural environment and urban forestry for the update of Tukwila’s Comprehensive Plan.   These goals and policies were adopted by the City Council in 2013 and can be found in Chapter 4 of the Comprehensive Plan. \nTo implement the new landscaping and urban forestry goals and policies\, the City is now updating its landscaping code\, which has not been updated substantially in 17 years.   Updating the City’s tree regulations will follow after the landscaping code update.   The Tukwila Tree and Environment Advisory Committee reconvened to assist in the initial review of a draft landscaping code.   Materials related to the Committee’s review of the draft regulations\, including the Committee’s recommended draft landscaping code\, are posted below.   The Committee made a number of revisions and forwarded the draft regulations on to the Tukwila Planning Commission. \nSee link for more information:   http://www.tukwilawa.gov/departments/community-development/community-planning/tree-environment-advisory-committee/
