DESCRIPTION:SEP 26 @ 7 PM – FREE DISASTER MOVIE (DOCUMENTARY) NIGHT\nTUKWILA COMMUNITY CENTER \nWe’ll be watching the Documentary “Surviving Disaster: How the Brain Works Under Extreme Duress.” Sociologists\, neuroscientists\, psychologists\, and survivors have found that the way people behave in a crisis is very predictable. By combining the stories of survivors with research into how the brain works under extreme duress\, Surviving Disaster with Amanda Ripley brings light into civilization’s darkest moments and better prepares you for a disaster. \nPopcorn and concession snacks provided! \nTo register:  email emergencyprep@tukwilawa.gov. \n  \nOTHER DISASTER PREPAREDNESS EVENTS\n_____________________________________ \n  \nSEP 19 @ 6:30 PM – FREE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WORKSHOP\nTUKWILA COMMUNITY CENTER \nJoin us for a FREE Emergency Preparedness Planning Workshop.  At this workshop\, we’ll discuss the critical elements your emergency plan needs to keep you and your household safe during a disaster. \n** Registration is required.  Click here to register.  ** \nTopics include: \n• Emergency Communications Plan – learn where you can go to get emergency information AND make a plan for how you’ll communicate with your loved ones. \n• Tips for all Circumstances – Do you have a disability? Share your home with pets? Have small children? Learn preparedness and planning tips for all the circumstances that make your household unique. \n• Build-a-Kit – we’ll discuss the items you should have in a grab-n-go kit as well as a shelter-in-place kit. \n• Regional Hazards – we’ll discuss the regions hazards and what you can do before\, during\, and after a disaster to keep you and your household safe \n• And so much more!
