SUMMARY:Petition for Adjustment of Fire Benefit Charges Due Today
DESCRIPTION:Deadline to file a Petition for Adjustment of Fire Benefit Charges is January 31\, 2025 \n\n\n\nEffective January 1\, 2025 the City of Tukwila fully annexed our Fire Department into the Puget Sound Fire service area. This month\, property owners received a notice from Puget Sound Fire regarding the Fire Benefit Charge\, which is part of a two-part funding system that helps ensure growing communities maintain high quality fire and life safety services. The fee is included in your property tax payable to King County. \nAs part of the Fire Benefit Charge legislation\, property owners are afforded the opportunity to file a Petition for Adjustment of Fire Benefit Charges (FBC) each year.  Adjustments could include having a fire suppression system or other factors that might lower your fire risk and thus may possibly reduce what you pay for the Fire Benefit Charge. Information on the charge and how to file a petition for adjustments can be found on the Puget Sound Fire website. \nPetitions for adjustments must be filed no later than 4:30 P.M. January 31\, 2025.
