Community Meeting – 42nd Ave S Bridge Replacement

The 42nd Ave S Bridge Replacement project continues to move forward, achieving key milestones that bring the City closer to construction. The design team has recently submitted the Biological Assessment for Federal review, outlining potential impacts to the waterway and detailing the measures the project will take to address and minimize those effects. This is a key step in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) that is required before the project can be advertised for construction.
Additionally, as part of the US Department of Transportation Act of 1966, the project is required to complete Section 4(f) which addresses impacts to park and recreation lands, wildlife and waterfowl refuges, and historic sites during transportation project development.

A community meeting is planned for July 28th at 5:30pm at the Tukwila Community Center to share the latest project updates and describe the impacts to the Tukwila Community Center and the Green River Trail during construction and what the future connection will be once construction is complete.
