Land Use Permits
Land use permits are required when a project changes how a property is used or developed. Common examples include subdividing a parcel, building near a wetland or shoreline, opening a new type of business, or triggering design review for a larger development. Land use permits are often required alongside a construction permit — if your project involves building work, check the Construction Permit Portal as well.
The tabs below contain checklists, application guides, and supplemental forms organized by permit type. If you’re not sure which permit applies to your project, visit the Property Research page linked above or contact Planning before applying. For corrections, revisions, inspection scheduling, and pre-application meetings, visit the Permit Center page.
