City Council Committees

Each City Council Committee meets twice a month, then passes its recommendations forward to the Committee of the Whole for deliberation by the full Council. All meetings are open to the public.

Date and/or time changes will be noted on the City’s calendar and the committee agenda.

Please note that all meeting days and times follow the monthly calendar starting with the first Monday of the month.

Planning & Economic Development Committee

This Committee will provide policy recommendations on legislative matters relating to housing policies and programs, planning and land use, building and development regulations, code enforcement, economic planning and tourism, environment, sustainability, and other ad hoc matters as assigned.

Community Services & Safety Committee

This Committee will provide policy recommendations on legislative matters relating to police, fire, emergency services, municipal court, public safety facilities, animals, community engagement, human services, parks, recreation, library, public art, social equity and justice, census, and other ad hoc matters as assigned.

Transportation & Infrastructure Committee

This Committee will provide policy recommendations on legislative matters relating to transportation, traffic, streets, water, sewer, surface water, power, street lighting and signals, solid waste and recycling, river basins and levees, telecommunications, shops facilities, fleet, and other ad hoc matters as assigned.

Finance Committee

This Committee will provide policy recommendations on legislative matters relating to financial management and fiscal operations of the City, administrative services, personnel, compensation, technology systems, government performance, public records, and other ad hoc matters as assigned.
