Riverton Creek Work Party

November 22, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Kick Off Restoration Work on Tukwila’s Riverton Creek!

Take part in this momentous event to kick off restoration work happening along Tukwila’s Riverton Creek! Join our Forest Steward, Heidi, for an afternoon along the creek where volunteers will focus on removing invasive weeds that are threatening the health of the forest here. All ages and abilities are welcome, and no experience is necessary. So invite your friends, family, and coworkers to get your hands dirty at this Green Tukwila event!

To sign up to volunteer, and for more information, please email us at greentukwila@forterra.org, or call us at  206-905-6924.

Location:  Riverton Creek – 37th Ave S and S 128th St., Tukwila, WA 98188

Where to meet: Street parking is available near the site. Please meet on 37th Ave S near the corner of S 128th St. Keep your eyes peeled for event signs and tools!

What to bring:  Come dressed for the weather (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking/tennis shoes), long sleeves, long pants, warm layers and rain jacket. We’ll have tools and gloves for you to use! Help reduce waste by bringing your own refillable water bottle if you have one.

All ages welcome, but we encourage all volunteers under the age of 15 to be accompanied by an adult. If you are a volunteer under 18 and attending the event without a parent or guardian, please print and bring this waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
