Welcome the Water Event

A FREE cultural event in honor of the water, the Duwamish River, the salmon, and the change of the seasons.

FOOD!
2:30 pm   – HEALTHY FISHING – DEMONSTRATIONS & SAMPLES
Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Latinx recipes with salmon by your local community health advocates

ART!
2:00 – 6:00 pm   – COAST SALISH WEAVING and TWINING workshop by ELIZABETH KING GEORGE (Nooksack)

WEAVE THE RIVER   – a participatory weaving project by ROLDY AGUERO ABLAO, ADRIA GARCIA, and ROQUIN-JON QUICHOCHO SIONGCO. Help us create a giant weaving representing the Duwamish River, using all natural plant materials! All are welcome to contribute.

CONVERSATION!
4:00 pm   – RIVERSIDE CHAT with THE TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL, SPECIAL GUEST ARTISTS, and YOU.
We’ll be hosting the first ever “riverside chat” with the Tukwila City Council about river and water issues! Bring your questions, comments, and items for discussion and let’s talk about what the City can do to support salmon, clean water, and a healthy river.
