For generations, Tukwila has been shaped by the people who chose to build their lives here. From early settlers to immigrant and refugee families, our city’s history is one of courage, resilience, and hope.
As our nation navigates challenging times, many in our community — particularly immigrant and refugee families, friends, and neighbors — may be feeling uncertain, worried, or unheard. Now more than ever, it’s important to create space for connection, understanding, and belonging.
That is why THS are launching a new monthly guest speaker series following our regular meetings: Stories of Arrival. This event is open to the public, and we hope you will join us to learn more about why the stories of our residents make our city so special.
This series was born from a simple but meaningful idea — to listen. To hear directly from Tukwila residents about their journeys, their challenges, their triumphs, and what it means to call this city home.
The Tukwila Historical Society has always honored our city’s rich past and looked ahead to its future. With Stories of Arrival, we are intentionally centering the present — uplifting the voices and lived experiences shaping Tukwila right now.
We invite you to join us each month as we celebrate the stories that continue to define our community.
