Duwamish River Work Party

December 9, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Green Tukwila Partnership

Volunteer with the Green Tukwila Partnership and spend a lovely afternoon along the Duwamish River clearing out invasive weeds along the shoreline. We’ll have a great view of an osprey nest and some occasional otter and bunny sightings while we work next to the river. What greater way to start you weekend than by getting your hands dirty, convening with nature and doing something great for your community and the environment.

What to Bring:     Please come prepared with weather appropriate clothes, close-toed shoes, and a water bottle. We’ll provide the gloves, tools and training! No experience necessary!

Volunteers under the age of 18 should bring a signed Youth Waiver Form with them to the event.

The Green Tukwila Partnership is a new partnership between the City of Tukwila, non-profits like Forterra, EarthCorps, and the SCA, and the Tukwila community, to care for public parks and natural open space across the city. We will work to restore and maintain 53 different places in Tukwila over the next 20 years—and we need your help! By planting trees and other plants, weeding, and joining your neighbors outside, you can make sure we have healthy, safe, and beautiful parks to enjoy into the future.
