Pro/Con Committee Members Needed for Minimum Wage Ballot Measure

The City Council has acted to place the “Raise the Wage” initiative measure on the November 8, 2022, ballot, and is now seeking individuals to serve on the voters’ pamphlet pro and con committees. Individuals will be appointed by the Council to provide statements in favor of or in opposition to the ballot measure. Each committee is limited to three individuals, though an unlimited number of people can assist in the preparation of each statement. Each Committee must designate one spokesperson.  The Pro/Con Statements will be due to King County Elections by August 9, 2022.

If you are interested in serving on either the pro or con committee, submit your name by Wednesday, July 27 at 5:00 p.m. by emailing or calling Laurel Humphrey at laurel.humphrey@tukwilawa.gov or 206-433-8993. Please be sure to indicate which committee on which you would like to serve, and whether you are willing to serve as the committee’s spokesperson. The City Council is expected to make the final appointments at the August 1, 2022 Council meeting.
