City deploys radar feedback signs as part of the Speed Reduction In Neighborhoods of Tukwila program (SPRINT)
As part of the Speed Reduction In Neighborhoods of Tukwila program (SPRINT), the City of Tukwila will be installing radar feedback signs and performing traffic studies in neighborhoods throughout the city. Last month these devices were deployed on South 160th at 46th Ave. South and preliminary information is being collected currently.
South 119th Pedestrian Bridge to be Closed for Repairs
The City of Tukwila, along with the support from King County maintenance crews, will be correcting some deficiencies on the South 119th Pedestrian Bridge over the Duwamish River from September 19 to October 5.

Free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training on Sept. 17, 2016
Following a large scale emergency, professional responders may not be immediately available as they are tasked with multiple priorities. Through CERT training, individuals and organizations learn life-saving response skills to help each other until professionals arrive.
Proposed new standards for drainage review and the design of development projects
The City of Tukwila is updating its development codes relating to drainage review and the design of development projects. The updated standards and procedures will be applicable city-wide. The overall objective of the code update is to control pollution from potentially pollution generating activities.
Department of Natural Resources bans campfires across the state
With the arrival this week of the most dangerous fire weather of the year, Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark is expanding the statewide burn ban effective noon today, Aug. 17 to prohibit all campfires on DNR-protected lands through Sept. 30, 2016.
Excessive heat warning in effect August 18-21
The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for many areas in our region, including King County. This statement lets us know that very hot weather that can affect our health is expected starting Thursday afternoon through Sunday night.
