Born and raised in eastern Washington where I started my family and career in the United Association of Plumbers & Steamfitters. I moved to Tukwila in the early 90’s like many of our residents for better career opportunities. First renting then purchasing our home, I became involved in the community volunteering in youth sports programs as well as the Hands Up Foundation.

Throughout my career in every aspect of the piping industry from nuclear, defense, classified, industrial, aerospace, aviation, sports and penal construction I always took advantage of continued education that was offered to me with my union affiliation.

As a member of our catholic church volunteering is part of what community involvement is, and when I retired after 40 years of service, was accepted to serve on the city’s Planning Commission which I did for 8 years prior to being elected to the council.

I am still very active in my union as the vice chairman of the Political Action Committee, union election official,  member of the Northwest Minority Builder Alliance, Tukwila Historical Society, volunteer caulking soccer field for youth soccer and assisting seniors in our community with small home repairs.
