Adopt-A-Spot: Be a Steward for Your Community

Help keep Tukwila’s parks, trails, and green spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. Through the Adopt-A-Spot program, community members, families, businesses, and groups can “adopt” a favorite park or trail and care for it year-round.
Volunteers choose their own schedule and make a difference through simple actions like picking up litter during a walk or helping with light restoration. The City provides supplies and support—you bring the care and commitment. Just a few cleanups each year can have a lasting impact on the health and beauty of our shared spaces.
Join us in building a cleaner, greener Tukwila—one spot at a time.
How It Works:
1. Choose your spot.
Pick a park or section of trail you’d like to care for.
2. Sign up online.
Fill out the Adopt-A-Spot form.
3. Meet with staff.
We’ll provide a quick training and get you started with cleanup supplies.
What to Expect:
- Set your own schedule
- Cleanups can be casual—like a weekly walk with a trash bag
- Light landscaping or restoration optional
- Report your cleanups with a short form
- Leave collected trash in onsite bins or designated areas
We Provide:
- Gloves, trash bags, and litter pickers
Your Commitment:
- Follow safety guidelines
- Complete at least 4 cleanups per year
- Commit for 1 year or more
- Submit a quick report after each cleanup
