Councilmember Hannah Hedrick
Council Position No. 3
Term of office: January 22, 2024 to November 2025 General Election certification date
About: Hannah serves as an elected member of the Tukwila City Council, bringing a thoughtful and steady approach to local governance. She is committed to transparent decision-making, practical solutions, and showing up for Tukwila with the same care and consistency that residents show up for one another. Her work on council is grounded in listening, collaboration, and accountability — particularly on issues that affect people’s daily lives. Hannah values family, connection, and community. She shares her home with her Saint Bernard, Greta, and four cats — Norma, Jasper, Silas, and Lucy — and believes strongly in the importance of keeping loved ones close. She has been involved in youth mentorship and community-based volunteer work supporting youth and families as they navigate difficult times. She values mindfulness and staying grounded, and sees travel and new experiences as a way to widen the lens through which she approaches her work and the world around her. Hannah believes effective local government is built on empathy, trust, and a commitment to showing up — consistently and with care.
Hannah has a background in project and implementation management, with experience coordinating complex efforts across diverse stakeholders. This perspective informs her approach to public service: asking clear questions, understanding tradeoffs, and ensuring policies and plans are realistic, equitable, and well-executed. She is particularly interested in equity, access to services, and strengthening the systems that support Tukwila’s diverse community.
