Through learning opportunities and making connections, you will have a better understanding of how to get involved and make positive changes.

TIME COMMITMENT AND COMPENSATION

• Attend a 7-week program:
  • Regular meetings on Tuesdays, October 21, 28, November 4, 18, 25, December 2
  • Tukwila City Council Meeting at City Hall on Monday, November 10, 7-9pm
• Each regular meeting is from 6-8pm at the Tukwila Justice Center, 15005 Tukwila Intl. Blvd., and includes a meal
• A gift card valued up to $500 will be provided at the end of the program. The amount will depend on attendance and participation. Gift Card Options: Amazon, Costco, Red Robin, Saars Super Saver, Safeway, Starbucks, Target, or Walmart.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

• All may apply, but those that live or have a business in the City of Tukwila are strongly encouraged.
• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Be able to sign City of Tukwila gift card forms.
• Must not be running for, or currently serving in, a political office.
• Attend all of the required meetings to receive a certificate of completion.
• Complete a survey following each session. The surveys helps to improve the program.

PROGRAM GOALS

• Increased understanding of local government
• Increased involvement in community groups and/or local government
• Increased sense of inclusion and belonging
