The Department of Community Development (DCD) oversees land use, planning, environmental sustainability, and code enforcement for the City of Tukwila. We help residents and businesses navigate development and work to ensure growth reflects the community’s vision.

Plans & Policies
DCD is guided by the City’s Strategic Plan and the 2024–2044 Comprehensive Plan, adopted by City Council on December 16, 2024. The Comprehensive Plan sets the long-range blueprint for land use, housing, and infrastructure over the next 20 years. (The adopted 2024–2044 Comprehensive Plan is currently being finalized. Construction and Land Use
