Mayor McLeod's Bio

Thomas McLeod is currently serving his first term as Mayor of Tukwila. His priorities for the City include increasing housing options for residents, supporting small businesses, budget sustainability,  and improving public safety.

Prior to his 2023 election as Mayor, Tom served eight years on the City Council and six years on the City’s Planning Commission.

The adopted 2025–2026 Mayor’s Budget includes funding for a new park ranger position, the creation of the Tukwila Promise to provide college opportunities for Tukwila students, and the return of $6 million in property tax capacity to Tukwila property owners.

Tom grew up in south King County and worked for over 30 years as a Tax Accountant.
